If you have or suspect hornets around your property, it’s important that you call a qualified specialist to come and safely deal with them.
Hornets That Can Sting Repeatedly
The Bald Faced Hornet is called a hornet though they are not actually a true hornet. They are closely related to yellow jackets and are mostly black in color with white bands and other markings on their bodies. They will prey on other yellow jackets and also flies so they can be somewhat beneficial to have around. Unfortunately, they can be extremely aggressive if they feel threatened or are disturbed (including their nest). They can sting more than once and will sting repeatedly so it’s always advised that you refrain from trying to manage hornets on your own. Their paper-like nests are shaped like a football and are typically higher off the ground with an opening on the bottom of the nest.
